Inheritance of bacterial wilt resistance in five tomato cultivars

نویسندگان

چکیده

Five tomato cultivars were studied for inheritance of bacterial wilt resistance. Lines AVTO1429, AVTO1424, and AVTO1314 have the resistance gene, Roma VF lacks Valoria Select is claimed to but has not been evaluated. The study, which was carried out in a split plot design, involved six generations backcrosses that conducted greenhouse field. Artificial inoculation Ralstonia solanacearum greenhouse. Parental lines AVTO1424 had lowest incidence 37.78, 26.67 26.67%, respectively while highest at 95%. F1 hybrids lower ≤ 33.33% all crosses. Cross x Parent 2 (BC2) significantly disease severity compared F2 hybrids, 1 (BC1) P1 (Roma VF) Computation gene effects showed significant additive 1.941 cross AVTO1429 1.925 select p<0.01. Dominance effects, additive, dominance interaction crosses different important dominance-additive portions implied trait inherited. Key words: solanacearum, tomato, trait, inheritance, wilt.

Enhancement of bacterial wilt resistance and rhizosphere health in tomato using bionanocomposites

Biological control agents are useful components in the enhancement of plant disease resistance and improvement of soil properties. Effect of biological control agents (BCAs) as a disease control method in plants is hampered by their vulnerability to environmental and edaphic conditions. This study entailed the use of chitosan-silica nanocomposites for delivery of BCAs. Effect of BCAs-nanocompos...

Inheritance of resistance to bacterial blight in 21 cultivars of rice.

ABSTRACT Genetic analysis for resistance to bacterial blight (Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae) of 21 rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivars was carried out. These cultivars were divided into two groups based on their reactions to Philippine races of bacterial blight. Cultivars of group 1 were resistant to race 1 and those of group 2 were susceptible to race 1 but resistant to race 2. All the cultivars ...

Genetic dissection of Verticillium wilt resistance mediated by tomato Ve1.

Vascular wilt diseases caused by soil-borne pathogens are among the most devastating plant diseases worldwide. The Verticillium genus includes vascular wilt pathogens with a wide host range. Although V. longisporum infects various hosts belonging to the Cruciferaceae, V. dahliae and V. albo-atrum cause vascular wilt diseases in over 200 dicotyledonous species, including economically important c...

Tomato spotted wilt virus.

Growers in Georgia first noted problems in their peppers and onions during the last week of March 1989. Thrips populations combined with further field symptoms and the verification of the disease triggered a massive insecticide spray program in Georgia. Monitor was first used in early May followed by combinations of Orthene, Cygon and Thiodan. Most fields had less than 1% infection prompting a ...
